A Morning Wedding at Sage and Social in Mulino, Oregon

If you’re dreaming of a modern farmhouse wedding that feels relaxed, stylish, and a little bit different — Sage and Social in Mulino, Oregon needs to be on your radar. It’s the ultimate hidden gem: open fields, cozy farmhouse vibes, modern touches everywhere, and a team that’s seriously amazing to work with. You can check them out here.

I recently photographed a morning wedding there, and honestly? I’m still obsessed. The couple wanted something a little non-traditional — no late-night party, no formal dinner — just a slow, happy morning with the people they love. And it was perfect.

They kicked things off with a ceremony right as the sun was getting high, in front of Sage and Social’s dreamy barn backdrop. Think light streaming through the trees, grasses everywhere, and a vibe that was emotional without being stuffy. After the vows, everyone moved straight into brunch — yes, brunch! Waffles, breakfast tacos, fresh fruit, mocktails… basically a Pinterest dream come true.

The best part? A coffee truck rolled up to keep the energy high. Lattes, cold brew, and even custom his-and-hers coffee drinks — it was such a hit. Guests sipped their drinks while playing lawn games like cornhole and giant Jenga. It felt so fun and effortless, exactly the way a wedding morning should feel.

The Couple | Chris and Jacqi

I first met Chris and Jacqi at a coffee shop in Salem- not my typical zoom call consultation. They were so sweet together from the start- we’re talking holding hands, sharing food, holding the door for her kind of sweet. At first, their four month long relationship turned engagement had me a teeny bit nervous but after chatting for only a few minutes, their love story was a true testament to “if you know, you know.” Chris and Jacqi were truly devoted to their upcoming marriage- putting their faith first and walking alongside each other through it all. While their love was sweet and new, it had a lived-in, old soul kind of feel that had be thinking I had to be the one to tell their story.

The wedding Chris and Jacqi planned was them to a tee. I don’t do many morning weddings and I have to say, I LOVED it. We got to send with golden hour photos (it was November so golden hour was at 3pm) and it was just so fun to get to let loose, relax and enjoy that time rather than rush it to get to the next thing.

The Venue | Sage and Social – The Modern Farmhouse

One of the things I love about Sage and Social is how flexible it is. Whether you’re planning a huge bash or something small and intimate like this morning wedding, they have indoor and outdoor spaces that flow together so naturally. The main barn is a 3,000 sqft modern farmhouse wedding of your dreams- think crisp white shiplap, bold black accents, wood tones, and tons of natural light. It’s stylish without feeling fussy, and totally neutral so you can make it your own. Plus, everything feels designed with photographers in mind- gorgeous light, great textures, and backdrops that don’t need much decorating.

And it’s not just pretty — it’s practical in all the best ways.

The barn itself is fully climate-controlled, which is a total game-changer. No sweating through your makeup in the summer, no shivering through your vows in the fall – just cozy, comfortable air no matter what’s happening outside. Oregon can be pretty unpredictable with weather, but Sage and Social has you completely covered (literally) with a huge 1,200 sqft covered patio, plus smooth transitions between indoor and outdoor spaces. If you have to pivot because of rain? No big deal. It still feels magical.

They’ve also got getting ready down to a ‘T’. There are two separate, private prep areas for couples- not just functional, but actually beautiful, with soft light and enough space for your people to get ready, relax, and soak it all in. It makes those quiet, pre-ceremony moments feel extra special.

Rentals all in House

One of the standout features? On-site design and rentals. The team at Sage and Social offers styling, coordination, and a full inventory of rentals — think custom wood tables, black ceremony chairs, a bar on wheels (yes, really), and bistro tables for cocktail hour. No extra delivery fees, no running all over town to piece things together. It’s all right there and ready.

If you’re thinking about doing something different for your wedding — like a morning ceremony, a brunch party, or even just swapping tradition for more you â€” I can’t recommend Sage and Social enough. It’s the kind of place that lets your day feel like yours.
